  • Inmates Hear Message of Hope in the Washing of the Feet

    Holy Thursday. Archbishop Rolando Tria Tirona celebrated Mass of the Lord’s Supper at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Tigaon, Camarines Sur. The Archbishop washed the feet of twelve inmates as part of the ritual in the liturgy. The archbishop explained in his homily the three gifts of this Thursday that lead to hope: The Priesthood, the Eucharist and Love. He emphasised that it is in the encounter with Jesus that we learn to love one another and to hope always in life. Fr.   • Bisikleta Iglesia Turns Cycling to Prayer

    Cycling in Lent has found its new form in Bisikleta Iglesia. Pedaling takes the new challenge, not only completing 360 degree around Mt. Isarog in 120 KM route, but now it has become a visitation to 15 Churches with the prayers of the Way of the Cross and sacramental confession. Organized by the Archdiocese of Caceres, hundreds of cycling enthusiasts in Camarines Sur flocked on the Saturday before the Holy Week to join Bisikleta Iglesia. Six hundrerd ninteen (619) registered in the event including women, youth and cycling hobbyist. Fr. Jay Jacinto, Chairman of the Commission on Vocations claims that this activity is so far the largest Bisikleta Iglesia organized in the country.   • Caceres Priest Jubilarians, Honored in Chrism Mass

    The Archdiocese of Caceres honored priests who celebrate their Jubilee as priest during in the celebration of Chrism Mass at Naga Cathedral. The priests received a plaque of appreciation from the Archbishop and a gift as token of appreciation for the dedicated service in the ministry. Among the jubilarians is Fr. Danilo Imperial, 70 years old, who celebrates 45th Year in the priesthood. He received the longest applause in the congregation. Fr Imperia resides at the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. Though considered retired in the ministry, Fr Imperial took the role as Vice President for Academic and Students Affairs and still works as senior consultant of the University of Nueva Caceres. Archbishop Rolando Tria Tirona gave the appreciation to the priests and asked the lay faithful to pray for all the priests.   • Chrism Mass Highlights Priests as Proclaimers of the Cross

    Archbishop Rolando Tirona presided over the Chrism Mass on Thursday in the Archdiocese of Caceres attended by hundreds of priests the lay people at the Cathedral in Naga City. In his homily, the Archbishop emphasized the role of the clergy as proclaimers of the cross of Christ. He mentioned that the cross marks the identity of a priest, of his love and his sacrifice. As priests renewing the ordinations promises, the Archbishop emphasized to the clergy that renewal is a way going back to the source and force of priestly identity, that is, entering into the very heart of Christ. Jubilarians for this year 2018 were recognized in the Mass and new assignments of priests were also announced publicly.   • Archbishop Tirona  welcomed by faithful in the Northernmost island in Caceres.

    Archbishop Tirona visited Butauanan Island in Siruma, Camarines Sur on the vespera of the Feast of Saint Joseph in Sitio Laog. Traveling Twenty minutes by boat from the parish in Tandoc Siruma, Archbishop was welcomed by locals of the island with cheers and warm respect. Archbishop Tirona celebrated the Holy Eucharist with the locals. Forty five persons received the Sacrament of Confirmation from the Bishop’s hands. The archbishop also dropped by the Barangay Proper of the Island and was given the another welcome with much excitement of the people. Michael Benavides, Punong Barangay of the Island, expressed his joy, saying that all their sacrifices of preparations seemed to have all its fruits with the joy to see and meet the Archbishop. The locals remember the last pastoral visit of Archbishop Alberto in 1974.     The Family Ministry of the Archdiocese of Caceres spearheaded the March for Life Bicol 2018 last March 10, 2018. Ms. Rosa Linda Valenzona (ECFL - Consultant), gave a talk at the Peñafrancia Parish Shrine. Archbishop Rolando Tria Tirona, OCD, presided over the Mass before the march where he highlighted three important points in life: Acceptance, Adoration and Action for those who advocate for the sanctity of life. Fr. William Santiago, Director of the Family Ministry in Caceres, expressed his joy for the wide and active participation of the faithful especially the youth.
