Faith Stories
Michael A. Paylado

A miracle means the suspension of the nature of things. Hence a mystery.
My story of Ina is not about miracles or extraordinary things but on the simplest and smallest things I've encountered.
My devotion to Ina initially started when I was a little kid. I could vividly remember that my family would not miss a year’s traslacion procession and mass. From this bloomed my faith and devotion to her.
Young as I am, every Viva la Virgen is a sigh of prayer and joy. Is it possible that this annual tradition may have stirred me towards the priestly vocation?
As a seminarian, my devotion to Ina is no longer just an image affair. Ina is not reduced to a wood craft with silver and gold plates on it.
Ina is a real person in my heart. Her image helps me to reflect more on her virtues and imitate them.
Her "manto" of love gives me comfort and strength in my vocation. Every time I touch her cloak, it reminds me that I am her son and that she is always there to care for me.
I am certain that she is my mother and my female star general who is always by my side, guiding me in every step I make towards achieving the goal Jesus, her Son, has in store for me.
